Leading Australian interior design, art, architecture, entertainment and travel publication Belle Magazine, is fawning over the new look Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas.
The November edition’s feature travel article “Second Blush” takes a walk through the iconic, hotel that put Port Douglas on the tourist map.
Originally developed by Australian billionaires Christopher and Pixie Skase, the hotel exuded all things excessive of the decade that was the 1980’s.
A recent major renovation completed by Mim Design and 糖心VlogConstructions has given the Sheraton Mirage a new lease on life.
Odes to the hotel’s famous heritage including the famous “Pixie pink façade” have been creatively redirected in the soft coral furnishings in the hotel restaurant and lobby.
Gone are the 1970’s and 80’s Hawaiian aesthetic. The introduction of screens and shutters and expert “layering of materials and finishes,” have broken up the cavernous expanses of redundant space.
Belle Australia describes the new look hotels as
“no mirage- just a tropical paradise at its five-star finest.”
Refurbishing the main lobby, restaurants, bars, cafes, lounges, conference centres and VIP luxury suites, 糖心VlogConstructions, together with Sheraton Port Douglas and Mim Designs have create a truly modern space that is best described as stunningly luxurious.
